About the Talking Rock Club
Located in Prescott, Arizona just a short two hour and fifteen minute drive from the Phoenix Sky
Harbor International Airport (PHX) you will discover the pristine Talking Rock Golf Club, the anchor to the Talking Rock residential community. This outstanding private facility was ranked as one of the best new private clubs in the country by Golf Digest in its inaugural year of operation. The golf course was designed by legendary architect Jay Morrish. The recently opened clubhouse at Talking Rock has received rave reviews from various golf publications and will delight all of our competitors with its warm western ambience and charm. For more information on the Club please visit www.talkingrockclub.com
Teams and Format
This year’s event will require twelve teams comprised of six players. The event is limited to the first 12 teams registered and entry fees paid.
Like last year the format will be a “Match Around” and all players will compete in 45 holes of competitive two man net best ball matches in two flights. A cumulative point total scored by each team will determine the flight winner. A grand finale gross alternate shot four-hole match play showdown will determine our championship team.
Tournament Fees
Entry fee will be $425 per player and will include all golf related charges including the practice round and associated cart fees, tee prizes, awards and food and beverage during the event.
All travel expenses will be paid individually by the participants.
There will also be a mandatory cash fee/buy in of $75 per player that will cover the opening night closest to the pin contest, two man team prizes and gratuities. It is the responsibility of the traveling professional to secure these payments for delivery at team registration.
Itinerary and Dress Code
The dress code is resort casual for all events with the exception of the Friday night dinner when slacks will be preferred. On Friday you may want to bring a change of clothes and use the locker facilities to change as the host hotel is approximately a 45 minute round trip drive. Please note that Prescott, Arizona is located in the Arizona High Country of 5,000 feet of elevation so evening temperatures can get chilly. THE ‘HOME TEAM’ FROM DALHOUSIE GOLF CLUB WINS
THE 2007 OB SPORTS INVITATIONAL CUP MATCHES
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI – One of the ‘Home Teams’ from
Dalhousie Golf Club won the recent
OB Sports Invitational Cup Matches held at Dalhousie in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Created as a gathering for
OB Sports Golf Management’s private facilities and additional clubs by special invitation, matches provide an opportunity for the members of OB Sports-managed facilities to enjoy the other facilities in the OB network and to develop lasting bonds and relationships with other club members from around the globe.

The format for the OB Sports Invitational Cup Matches is a “Match Around” where all players compete in 45 holes of two-person, net best-ball matches in two flights. A cumulative point total scored by each team determined the winners in each flight. The two winning teams face off in a four-hole grand finale, alternate shot horse race to determine the winner of “The OB Cup”.
This year, both teams from Dalhousie won their respective flights creating an “All Dalhousie Final” pitting the two Dalhousie teams against each other in the grand finale, alternate shot ‘horse race’. The Dalhousie team captained by Dalhousie General Manager, Andy Deiro, made par on the stunning 18th hole to take the title.
“The final horse race was certainly pressure packed but our team got off to a great start with a birdie on the first hole and ended with a strong finish to capture The OB Cup,” stated Deiro. “The competition is great…but the camaraderie and relationships we have created by participating in this event over the past few years is what really makes the event special,” added Deiro.
No stranger to winning this event, Dalhousie captured the 2005 OB Sports Invitational Cup Matches held at Somerby Golf Club in Byron, Minnesota. In 2006, the team from Portmarnock, Ireland captured “The OB Cup” at the matches held at Winchester Country Club in Auburn, California.
Participating clubs in the 2007 OB Invitational Cup Matches included: Dalhousie Golf Club – Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Winchester Country Club - Auburn, California (2006 Host Venue); Hunters Point Golf & Country Club - Nampa, Idaho; Talking Rock - Prescott, Arizona; Somerby Golf Club - Rochester, MN (2005 Host Venue); Portmarnock - Ireland; Longbow Golf Club - Mesa, AZ and Horseshoe Bend Country Club - Roswell, GA
